Yes — that's the main thing. A picnic three days away is not a problem, it simply costs a little more: $30 on any last-minute booking, and $30 on top of that if your order includes fresh food or flowers. Here is what each one actually buys. The first buys you the date: we move prep, errands and other setups around to clear the time, so your day happens instead of being turned away. The second is a separate trip to the shop on the morning of your picnic, because roses and anything fresh are bought that same morning and never the day before — which is why they still look like that when you sit down. Book three or more days ahead and neither applies.

Two things you'd notice. On bigger picnics — anything over $800 — a second person comes along, so your setup is built faster and finished more carefully, and while the last details are still being styled she is already filming and photographing. You end up with more photos and video of your own picnic than one pair of hands could ever take, including the moments before you walk up. It's $100, added automatically once the order passes $800. On our proposal setups you never see it as a separate line at all: with Will You, She Said Yes and The Forever Yes it's already inside the price.

Yes — a lot of what we set up is a gift from somebody. If you already know the date, book it yourself and keep it quiet: we set everything up before you arrive, so you can walk them in with their eyes closed. A chalkboard sign hand-written with their name is $10 (and free in Pillow Talk and Daydream), and glowing letter lights spelling Happy Birthday are $40. If you don't know when they're free, our gift shop sells the picnic as a gift card — Golden Hour $200, Pillow Talk $500, Daydream $950 — valid for 2 months, and they choose the day with us. You can send it on its own or with fresh roses that arrive in a vase of water (25 roses $180, 50 roses $250), a keepsake box of roses ($150 or $200), a texture painting gift box, or a photoshoot gift card ($125 for 15 minutes plus $50 for the trip — we come to their event and photograph it). Either way we reach out within 24 hours to confirm the details and arrange delivery, and you can pay by card or by Zelle.

Payments are non-refundable, because the moment you book we set your date and time aside exclusively for you and turn away other requests for that slot. That said, life happens — tell us at least 5 days ahead and we'll gladly move your picnic to another available date at no charge, or turn your payment into a gift card you can use toward a future booking within 1 month. Between 5 and 3 days before your picnic we can still move your date for a $50 rescheduling fee, since the week is already built around it.

Wherever you'd be happiest sitting — a park, your own backyard, a private property, or a quiet spot with a view somewhere around Austin. Not knowing is the normal case, and most people simply take one of ours. Mueller Lake Park is our favorite for a sunset by the water; Auditorium Shores puts the whole downtown skyline right in front of you. Both are free to use, we know exactly where in them to set up, and neither carries an access fee. Auditorium Shores is one of Austin's most-loved parks, so now and then part of it is reserved for a city event, weekends bring a crowd, and parking nearby can be hard to find on weekends and in the evenings — a weekday there is the calmest and most private. Choosing your own place is completely fine too: we'll just ask one question in the form about how we get in with everything. For something truly magical there's Sekrit Theater — a hidden garden in East Austin with chandeliers in the trees and a glass greenhouse. It's a private venue: the rental is about $300 to $550 for 2 hours, paid to them and not part of your picnic total, and we arrange it with them for you. And if you're proposing, there's Sky Lounge — we set up there with any of our proposal packages. The rental is $700 with taxes and fees included, paid to Sky Lounge and not part of your picnic total. They take bookings only for dates within the next month, up to 10 guests can join you to celebrate, and parking is free for you. Their rules: no petals (real or fake), confetti, real-flame candles or outside alcohol — our candles are flameless, and since petals aren't allowed, packages that include them cost $200 less there.

Very little, and that is the whole idea. About an hour before your start time you get a message with the exact spot. You come at the time you booked — no need to arrive early, and nothing to carry in, because the picnic is already standing and waiting when you walk up. We meet you, show you where everything is, take the photos first if you booked a session, and then we step away: the rest of the time is yours, with nobody hovering over you. All you bring is your own food or wine if you want it, and the people you're celebrating with. When your time ends you simply get up and leave — nothing to fold, carry or clean, we come back and pack it all away. If you think you'll want longer, add extra time in the form while booking: $45 for another half hour, $80 for a full extra hour.

Travel within 15 miles of North Austin is complimentary. Beyond that, we charge $1 per mile.

Just tell us in the booking form — there's a question about it right under the location. Everything we bring is carried in by hand: tables, cushions, flowers, décor. If the way in means more than three steps, rocks, a hill, or a long walk from parking, we bring a second pair of hands, and there is a hard-access fee of $50 to $400. Where you land in that range depends on how far it is, what the ground is like — gravel, sand or a steep slope is slower than a lawn — and how much we are bringing, since a group setup or the flower arch with its candle stands takes far more trips than a table for two. The form adds $50 when you book, and we tell you the final amount once we have seen your spot, always before your booking is final and never as a surprise afterwards. Flat, easy spots cost nothing extra, and the parks we set up in ourselves — Mueller Lake Park and Auditorium Shores — never carry the fee. Not sure what your spot is like? Yes — and a picnic that runs into the dark is one of the prettiest things we do: candles, string lights, the neon sign, everything glowing. Two things to know before you plan it. The booking form only offers times that finish while it is still light, because we set up and pack down by hand and most parks in Austin close at dusk — so a late picnic is usually a backyard, your home, or a rooftop or studio. And it costs a little more than the same picnic in daylight: we bring extra lighting and a second pair of hands, and packing everything away in the dark takes longer. There's no fixed number for it — tell us the evening you have in mind and where, and we'll give you the exact amount before you book anything. Just message us instead of picking a time on the site.

No worries! Just let us know when you're ready to wrap up and we'll come take care of the cleanup — you just focus on enjoying your experience. We only ask that someone stays with the setup until we arrive, as we're not responsible for items left unattended.

Enjoy your picnic and don't think about it — that's what it's there for. Everything is brought, built and packed away by us, so you never carry, wash or fold anything, and ordinary use is simply expected: drinks get spilled, cushions get sat on, glasses get moved around. We only ask two things. Treat our pieces kindly, and let someone stay with the setup until we come back for it, since everything stays ours the whole time. If something is genuinely lost, broken, or permanently ruined — red wine that will not come out of a linen, for example — we send you photos and the cost of repairing or replacing just that piece, and nothing is ever taken from your card unless you've agreed to it first. It almost never comes up. It's also why every setup still looks like the photos you booked from.

The setup people ask for most is an 8-foot heart arch in white roses with four tall candle stands around it — 26 candles — and two round towers of candles, waiting at sunset. That is our Will You package: $1100 for an hour, helper included, and we bring it, build it and take it all away. But the part worth planning is what comes after the yes. Most proposals end with two people standing in a beautiful spot with nowhere to go and a dinner reservation an hour later. So we build the picnic into the same setup: you ask the question at the arch, and then you sit down right there — table, cushions, string lights, glasses — and stay inside the moment instead of driving away from it. She Said Yes, $1800 for an hour, adds everything that makes the moment itself: the neon sign of your question, a 15-minute photo session we take ourselves, the video of the moment, a bouquet of fifty long-stem roses waiting on a small table and two bags of fresh petals around the arch. The picnic to sit down at is $200 on top of any of the three. The Forever Yes, $2700 for an hour with the helper included, is everything in She Said Yes plus the most you can give the moment itself: a second professional photographer for half an hour, so the first minutes after the yes are caught by two cameras at once, two more tall candle stands closing the circle of light around you, and cold spark fountains rising behind you the second she says yes.

We build everything before you arrive, so she sees it finished, and we stay out of sight and out of the way. Tell us the story you told her — a walk, dinner, someone's birthday — and we'll match it. For the photos: with Will You a session is an add-on, $125 for fifteen minutes; with She Said Yes and The Forever Yes a 15-minute photo session we take ourselves is already included, and so is a video of the moment: the phone goes on a tripod at the right angle, we give you a microphone so your words are heard and not the wind, and afterwards we edit it down to a 30 to 60 second film of the moments that matter. With Will You, or if you're proposing during one of our picnics, that same video is an $80 add-on (Daydream already includes it). Every good frame reaches you within 10 days. One practical thing that makes a real difference: tell us in the form who arrives first and from which direction, so we are pointed at her face and not at your back.

We send you every good shot from the session — not a fixed number. We photograph you ourselves, give the frames a light edit, and the photos reach you within 10 days by download link — full resolution, yours to print and post. Around holidays and on our busiest weeks it can take a little longer, and we'll always tell you when to expect them. A 15-minute session is already included in Pillow Talk, Daydream, The Gathering, The Canvas, She Said Yes and The Forever Yes — you don't need to add anything to those. With Golden Hour and Will You, or if you'd like more time on any package, you can add a 15-minute session for $125 — the same price in every package — or two of them for half an hour.

They're the silver fountains you've seen at weddings, shooting 11 to 12 feet up behind you — and the first thing worth knowing is that they're cold. No heat, no flame, no smoke. They're safe next to skin, dresses, flowers and everything else in the setup, which is exactly why they can stand that close to you. We fire them by remote at the precise second: as you go down on one knee, or as the cake tells you whether it's a boy or a girl. Each burst lasts 30 to 60 seconds and there's enough for 10 to 15 bursts through your picnic, so the moment can be repeated for the photos instead of existing only once. They also light everything beautifully at dusk and after dark, which is when most proposals happen. You do nothing at all — we bring the machines, set them up and fire them. Cold sparks are $450 on our bigger setups: a proposal, a gender reveal, a group picnic, a birthday. They're already included in The Forever Yes. In Golden Hour and Pillow Talk we normally leave them out, where they'd cost more than the picnic itself — except for a birthday or a gender reveal, where people ask for them, so there you'll see them too. Celebrating somewhere else entirely — a wedding, a birthday, a reveal party? We can come to you with them for the same $450, for an hour at your party, plus $50 for delivery and setup within 15 miles of North Austin ($1 a mile beyond that). You'll find it in our gift shop.

Yes — for a birthday or a gender reveal. We buy it from a bakery here in Austin — we do not bake ourselves — pick it up the morning of your picnic, keep it cold on the way and put it on the table just before you arrive: $75 for a small cake (for 2–6 people) or $120 for a large one (for 8–12 people). Writing on top is free, so it can say Happy Birthday or your names. Please choose the cake at least 3 days ahead so we can order it, and tell us in the form about allergies or anything the cake should be — we pass it on to the bakery, but we cannot guarantee a bakery kitchen is free of nuts, dairy or gluten. For a gender reveal we can have the color baked inside for $45 more: two clear glasses come with the cake, you both push them in at the same time, pull them out, and the color is right there in your hands. There are also six pastries for $60 — they look identical and only one holds the color, so you each pick one and bite at the same time. How we learn the color: ask your doctor’s office to email the result straight to resonance.picnic@gmail.com, and you find out together with everyone else.

They're bought on the morning of your picnic, never the day before, and they travel in a vase of water instead of wrapped in paper. That vase stands on your table the whole time, so the roses look the same when you get up as they did when you sat down — and then they go home with you. Take them straight indoors and they'll keep for days. Roses in a keepsake box are watered too. That's also the honest answer about the price: the same-morning buying, the vase, the water and the care are already inside what you pay, and at a florist each of those is charged separately, on top of the flowers themselves.
