What it is — it's not about skill, it's about joy

Texture paste is a thick, creamy mix you spread on a canvas to build shapes and depth.

When it dries, it hardens like a sculpture and turns your art into something you can feel.

We bring everything to your picnic — canvas, paste and palette knives — so you just sit down and start.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Apply the paste

Use a palette knife to spread a smooth layer. Or place small amounts and shape petals or lines right away.

  2. 2

    Create texture

While it's soft, draw lines, petals, or swirls using a knife or brush.

  3. 3

    Start over if needed

Don't like it? Scoop the paste up and try again. Mistakes don't exist here.

  4. 4

    Add details

Press glitter, beads, or dried flowers into the paste — they'll dry in place.

  5. 5

    Let it dry

Drying takes about 1–24 hours, depending on thickness and temperature.

Not sure what to make? A few easy ideas

  • ✦Petals and flowers — the most forgiving shape there is, and the one everyone loves.
  • ✦Waves and swirls — simply drag the knife across the canvas and let it wander.
  • ✦A heart, your initials or your date — small, simple, and it means everything later.
  • ✦Branches or a single tree — a few thin lines from the bottom up.
  • ✦Soft hills — layered curves, like the horizon at sunset.
  • ✦Straight combed lines — pull the knife in one direction for a calm, modern look.

Now, let's get inspired

It's not about perfection — it's about freedom and joy. There are no rules, only your story told through movement and texture.

Your artwork doesn't need to look like anyone else's — that's what makes it beautiful.

Your canvas goes home with you. It may still be soft when the picnic ends, so carry it flat and let it finish drying at home.
