Five Things That Make a Proposal Go Smoothly
You only get this moment once, and it goes by fast. These are the things our couples wish they'd known beforehand.

Before we begin
Everything on our side is ready before you arrive — the setup, the candles, the flowers. You don't have to carry, hide or arrange anything.
Your only job is the moment itself. Here is how to make it easy on yourself.
Five things worth planning
- 1
Agree on a signal with us
Pick a small word or gesture — touching your pocket, saying a name. When we see it, cameras start rolling and we step out of the way. Without a signal, the best moment can happen while we are still adjusting a candle.
- 2
Think about where you stand
Stand with the setup behind you and the sun behind us, never behind your backs. Take a few steps in before you kneel, so nothing between you and the camera blocks the view.
- 3
Keep the ring on you
Front pocket, not a bag, and not with a friend. Check it once when you arrive, then don't touch it again — the reach for the pocket is part of the photo everyone loves.
- 4
Slow everything down
Stay on one knee a few seconds longer than feels natural. Hug longer. Say the words out loud, even quietly. The moment lasts about twenty seconds, and photos need every one of them.
- 5
Plan what happens right after
Friends hidden nearby, a call to the parents, a dinner reservation — decide it beforehand. Right after the yes, nobody can think clearly, and that's exactly when it should just happen.
A few small things that help
- ✦Arrive a little earlier than your partner, so you meet them at a setup that is already glowing.
- ✦Have one sentence ready. Not a speech — one sentence you actually mean. The rest comes on its own.
- ✦Phones away in your pockets, not in your hands. They show up in every photo otherwise.
- ✦Tell us if anyone else is coming, even a single friend with a camera — we'll place them where they won't be in the shot.
- ✦If you're worried they will guess, tell them the picnic is our gift, a giveaway or a birthday surprise. It works every time.
And then simply be there
Once you've said it, everything else takes care of itself. We stay quiet, keep filming, and you get the whole evening to yourselves.
